Hire terms

How hire works with us.

The short version of what a request is, what a quote covers, and what we each look after on the day.

Requests, quotes and confirmation

  • A booking request or enquiry on this website is a request for a quote. It does not reserve equipment or an operator.
  • We review each request personally, check availability, and respond with a quote by your preferred contact method. Quotes are valid for the period stated on the quote.
  • A hire is confirmed only when we tell you it’s confirmed. Until then, dates and equipment remain available to other customers.
  • Quoted pricing reflects the machine, hire period, operator time, attachments, transport and any materials or disposal described in your request. If the job changes on the day, we’ll talk to you before doing extra work.

Wet hire (machine with operator)

  • Wet hire means one of us operates the machine. You tell us the outcome you want; we’re responsible for how the machine is used.
  • The Isuzu tipper truck is available on wet hire only.
  • We assess the site when we arrive. If we find a hazard that wasn’t apparent from your request — unstable ground, undisclosed services, unsafe access — we’ll raise it with you before starting, and we may decline work we consider unsafe.
  • You’re responsible for telling us about underground services, easements, overhead lines and anything else on the property we need to avoid. Where required, Dial Before You Dig enquiries should be made before the job.

Dry hire (you operate)

  • Dry hire is available on the Kubota U17-3 excavator and the Toyota Huski 5 skid steer. Periods are set out on each equipment page and confirmed in the quote. The Isuzu tipper is not available for dry hire.
  • You must be competent to operate the equipment safely and hold any licence or ticket that applies to the machine and the work. We may ask for identification and proof of competency before handover.
  • You’re responsible for the equipment from handover until we collect it or you return it, including its safe use, security and any damage beyond fair wear and tear. Details, including any bond or excess, are set out in the quote.
  • Equipment is handed over clean, fuelled and serviceable, and should be returned the same way. Refuelling and cleaning charges, if any, are stated in the quote.

Site access and preparation

  • Please give us accurate access information — gate widths, slopes, soft ground, overhead obstructions. Machines that can’t get in safely can’t do the job.
  • Make sure someone is available on the day to point out boundaries, services and the scope of work, or that clear instructions are left for us.

Changes, cancellations and weather

  • If you need to change or cancel a confirmed hire, tell us as early as you can. Any cancellation terms will be stated in the quote.
  • Earthworks are weather-dependent. If rain makes the site unsafe or unworkable, we’ll reschedule with you rather than make a mess of your block.

Privacy and photos

  • Your details are handled as described in our privacy notice.
  • We may ask to photograph completed work for our project diary. We only publish with your consent, we don’t publish your address without approval, and we remove identifying details before anything goes online.

Questions

  • Anything unclear, call 0477 619 318. These terms are a summary of how we work; the quote you receive for a specific job is the document that applies to that hire.
